Cultural Forum Review

July 9, 2010

As detailed within Vibrant Aberdeen, the first Cultural Forum action of developing and expanding the role and functions of the Forum is well underway. Following an initial workshop, a full review paper and follow-up session an agreed structure for developing the Forum is in place. The aim is to create a more inclusive, interactive and ultimately effective Cultural Forum for the city.  There is a  real need to develop communication both within the sector and across to other sectors and this restructuring is an important  first step in doing so. Other cities throughout the United Kingdom and beyond have shown the value of communication in developing culture and some of the good practice examples have played a key role in developing our new structure.

The new forum structure will be launched later this year so watch this space.

The Aberdeen Cultural Forum are currently putting together a simple website to showcase Vibrant Aberdeen – Aberdeen’s cultural strategy. Please bookmark and visit this site in future to watch the Vibrant Aberdeen plan evolve and grow. We also need your help – to help us shape the cultural provision to be the best it can for Aberdeen.
